Walks

With its quiet lanes, reasonably well signposted paths and beautiful scenery the area around Lloyney and Llanfair is ideal for walking.
Long distance walks Jack Mytton Way (Route Six) and Offa's Dyke run through Llanfair whilst  Glyndwr's Way starts in Knighton, five miles away.

Walks from Everest Hall

Robert Taylor has explored six walks starting and finishing at the Everest Hall, Llanfair Waterdine. They are on OS Explorer Map 201; the  Everest Hall is at grid reference 763243. They give you an opportunity to see the area around here and all of them have ever-changing views. They follow lanes, bridleways and public footpaths. There is so little traffic on the local lanes that, with care, they are safe for both walking and cycling. This is not a busy walking area and most of footpaths and some of the bridleways are not walked frequently enough for the way to be obvious, although the gates and stiles are often waymarked. Have faith and follow the route description and enjoy the tranquility!

Please close all the gates that you find closed.

All the walk descriptions tell you how long the walk is and how much climb there is and give you an estimate of how much time they should take. These times do not include stops for refreshments, admiring the views and photographing them. All the walks are in sparsely populated hill country. They can be muddy and wet at any time of year, so you are advised to wear suitable footwear.

Take with you all you need; such as food and drinks, water and windproof clothing. The weather in these parts can change very quickly, although on fine warmer days picnicking on Llanfair Hill or at the table and seat on Goytre Tump can be wonderful. All walks are circular.
