The Everest Hall is the centre of social activity for Llanfair and Lloyney. Celebrations were recently held on the fortieth anniversary of the naming of the hall as the Everest Hall in honour of the local resident (at that time) Sir John, later Lord, Hunt of Llanfair Waterdine who led the first expedition to conquer Mt Everest.
